We're Growing!

Hello Lifesong supporters!

It has been a while since we provided an update – not because things are slow over here, but rather because we have so many projects on the go! One of those projects that kept us busy over the last year was our container building, which we started last May. It took almost 2 months to find the 7 shipping containers needed for the building, but we were able to break ground for the foundation in June and begin construction. Because it gets quite hot during our summer months, we painted the exterior walls of the containers with a paint that deflects the sun rays, which will help to keep the inside of the building a moderate temperature.

The main floor of the container building serves as a space for classrooms that were needed as our school continues to expand and enroll new students. In addition to the classrooms, there is a large conference room and office spaces on the upper level. This building will be put to great use, as this school year we had 110 new children join us, bringing the total number to 765 students! It is exciting to see how God continues to grow this ministry, both in buildings and people to fill those buildings, and we are blessed to be a part of it.

As we continue in this New Year, we would love for you to be a part of the work God is doing in Zambia. How, you ask?

  • By committing to pray daily for the students and staff at Lifesong Harmony School; that the students would experience God’s love and be able to learn in a safe environment, and that the staff would exemplify Christ’s love and His attributes to the students. Not sure what to pray for? Click here for our 2022 prayer guide!

  • By sponsoring a child. Each year, we enroll between 60 - 100 new students, all of which need to be sponsored. Child sponsorship not only provides a child with free education, it also provides them with medical care, 2 healthy meals each week day, and the chance to learn about God.

  • By telling others about Lifesong for Orphans Canada! Even something as simple as sharing a blog post with a friend, ‘liking’ our Facebook content, or telling others about our child sponsorship program can make a big difference!
