End of the Year Update

Hello Lifesong supporters,

As 2020 is coming to an end, we are taking time to look back and reflect on all that God has done. Despite the many challenges and unknowns that this year has contained, we have seen God’s faithfulness and sovereignty so clearly through it all.

As many of you know, the Delic family came to Canada in February. Due to Covid-19 lockdowns, they did not return to Zambia until the beginning of October. While they were away from Zambia, Adrian and Marcela Acs held down the fort with the rest of the local staff, and continued to serve the community however they could during shut down. This included providing food, blankets, and other basic necessities to families whose homes were destroyed by flooding that happened during the pandemic. Teachers also stayed active by providing homework and checking up on their students to make sure they could continue their learning despite the disruptions.

New Wells

One exciting project that took place in September was the installation of 2 wells in Chipata Compound! This was made possible because of some generous donors who saw the need for clean water. Needless to say, the project generated a lot of interest in the locals, and they enjoyed watching the construction as they waited for the task to be completed. Once the construction was finished, we held a dedication ceremony to publicly give glory to God for providing these wells to the community.

Back to School

After several months of schools being shut down, Lifesong Harmony School was able to re - open in September. Since then, the Grade 7's and 9's were diligently preparing for their end of year exams, which took place the beginning of December before Christmas break.

Because of one church's generous donations, we were able to host a Christmas party at the school where we offered a special lunch and small gifts to the students. At the Harmony Home, we did a smaller celebration which included personalized gifts, caroling, and lots of games. As if that wasn't enough, we were pleasantly surprised to find out more donations were collected to specifically provide shoe box gifts to EACH student in our school - which is over 600 children! This alone gave us much reason to thank God for His kindness towards us, and more importantly the people we serve.

Current Needs

Over the past year, amidst economic downturn and world wide difficulty, God's faithfulness has been clearer than ever. He truly showed us that regardless of the circumstances, His purposes will be accomplished! If you feel led to donate to Lifesong this Christmas season, please consider the following needs:

- Student sponsorships
- A second girl's boarding home
- New Vehicle
- Construction of Grade 12 classroom
- Sea-can with medical equipment from the US

We appreciate all the support we receive from you, and pray that the Lord would richly bless you as we remember Christ's birth.

With love,
The Lifesong Team
